Adding PIPR indexation gives your rent review an evidence-based suggested increase, calculated for you.
How to Add Indexation to a Comparable Pack for a Rent Review
Go to Rent Reviews.
Select the property you are working on.
If the property shows no valid rent indices in the next steps, you’ll need to add one before continuing.
From the property’s next steps, click the action prompt or open Indexation from the top menu.
This will take you into the Indexation tab where you can add a new index.
Click Add New Index.
You’ll see two index options available:
You can also choose between automatic and custom settings.
If your property details are already filled in, the automatic option should populate the relevant information for you.
PIPR Absolute is shown first, then PIPR Indexation.
Recommended option: use PIPR Indexation for most rent reviews.
PIPR Indexation tracks the change in rental value from the last rent increase date to the current day.
PIPR Absolute shows average values for the area without considering the current rent being charged.
Click OK to save the selected index.
Once loaded, the index will appear in the indexation section.
If needed, you can remove the Absolute index and keep only the PIPR Indexation version.
After the index is added, the system will calculate the suggested rental increase.
In the example shown, the suggested increase is £18.31 per month.
This figure will pull through into the comparable pack.
Once indexation is complete, the prompt in Next Steps disappears.
The final step is to propose the rent review to the landlord.
