Keeping tenancy and rent details accurate means every rent review is built on the right numbers from the start.
How to Add Tenancy Information to a Property
Open the property you just added.
Go to the Edit area to find the tenancy information fields.
Review the available tenancy data before entering anything.
Fill in the tenancy status.
Add the tenancy reference.
Enter the tenancy start date from your source data.
Double-check the start date against your spreadsheet or records, since it may need correcting.
Confirm the rent amount.
Specify how often the rent is collected:
Make sure the rent frequency matches the tenancy setup.
If the property had a rent increase, enter the relevant increase date.
Use the correct year and date based on when the increase took effect.
If there has been no increase this year, use the last applicable increase date or leave it as appropriate for your system.
Enter any extra tenancy-related charges.
In this example, the property has communal water paid by the landlord through the service charge.
Add the water charge amount and frequency, such as £50 per month.
Fill in any other applicable charges.
Review all entered tenancy details.
Click Save to store the information.
Confirm the tenancy information has been added successfully.
