# Setting Default Rent Indexation for Property Managers

Setting a default indexation keeps every property manager working the same way, so your rent reviews stay consistent.

## 1. Open settings and find rent index defaults

Go to Settings.

Scroll down to Rent Index Defaults.

This is where you choose the default indexation method used for rent reviews.

## 2. Choose your default indexation type

Select one of the available options:

- Manual
- PIPR Absolute
- PIPR Standard

Pick the option you want all property managers to use by default.

In the example, PIPR indexation is chosen as the preferred default.

## 3. Save the default setting

Click Save.

This sets the selected indexation method as the default that will appear for future rent review indexes.

## 4. Confirm the default appears in a property indexation workflow

Open a property record.

Go to Indexation.

Click Add Default.

The default indexation method should now populate automatically.

If required property details are missing, update them first (for example, the number of bedrooms) and then confirm with OK.

## 5. Use this to keep rent reviews consistent

Setting a default indexation helps standardise the process across your business.

It ensures property managers use the same indexation method for rent reviews.

This improves consistency and reduces manual setup each time.
